Transforming an Apartment for Airbnb Rental: A Modern Interior Design Project

A Thoughtfully Designed Space for Comfort and Style

Our goal for this modern Airbnb rental apartment was to create a space that offers both style and comfort. After carefully considering the needs of travelers, we developed a design that balances functionality with modern aesthetics. From the cozy living room to the serene bedroom and sleek kitchen, this apartment is designed to provide guests with a relaxing retreat while reflecting a contemporary and cool style.

Living Room: A Cozy Yet Modern Retreat

In the living room of this modern Airbnb apartment we wanted to create a space where guests could truly unwind. The focal point is the gray sectional sofa, which is paired with cushions in soft hues of beige, brown, and teal. Above the sofa there are two framed artworks, which add character and vibrancy to the neutral-toned walls.

Natural light pours into the room through a large window, helping to enhance the inviting atmosphere. The wooden floor adds warmth to the space, while the hanging lights provide a soft glow in the evening. A minimalist white coffee table and additional seating make this area perfect for both relaxation and socializing.

Kitchen: Modern Design Meets Functionality

For the kitchen, we opted for a design that combines green cabinetry with natural wood accents and a white tiled backsplash. The kitchen features all the necessary elements, including a built-in oven, stovetop, and sink, making it both practical and aesthetically pleasing.

We integrated a wooden shelf above the countertop, offering space for kitchen items and a personal touch. Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining area includes a simple white table and wooden chairs, ideal for small meals or enjoying a cup of coffee. The window above the table not only offers a glimpse of greenery but also lets in natural light, brightening up the entire area in this modern Airbnb Apartment.

Bedroom: A Peaceful Sanctuary

The bedroom is designed to be a peaceful and relaxing sanctuary. We chose a bed with clean, white bedding and a patterned comforter to add texture and color to the space. The vibrant abstract art above the bed, in shades of blue, yellow, and green, adds energy and personality to the room.

To enhance the room’s functionality, we included a built-in shelf with white storage cabinets above the bed, creating an organized and visually appealing storage solution. A large mirror on the left reflects the room, making it feel larger and brighter. The wooden floor, paired with two patterned rugs, adds warmth and comfort, while the modern chandelier provides a stylish lighting solution.

Bathroom: Simple Elegance with a Modern Touch

For the bathroom, we opted for a minimalist approach with a color scheme of white and gray to create a calming, sophisticated atmosphere. The walls and floor are covered with large gray marble tiles, giving the space a sleek, modern feel. The bathtub, located near a window, offers guests a tranquil spot to relax.

The white sink, paired with a sleek mirror, complements the modern aesthetic. A black towel rack on the left wall adds an industrial touch, and a small plant on the windowsill brings a natural element to the design.

Floor Plan: A Layout Designed for Maximum Comfort

The apartment’s floor plan is optimized to provide both comfort and functionality. The layout includes a spacious living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a tranquil bedroom, and a minimalist bathroom. Each area is designed to flow seamlessly into the next, with enough space for guests to feel relaxed and at home during their stay.

As interior designers, we aimed to create a modern Airbnb apartment that would be visually appealing and also comfortable for guests to enjoy during their stay in Cluj-Napoca. Every detail, from the modern furnishings to the bold color choices, was selected to provide a relaxing and enjoyable environment. The result is a space that feels like home, with the perfect balance of contemporary design and cozy touches.
