Interior design starts with functionality, and our job is to find creative solutions to any challenge. In the case of this hostel, the biggest challenge was to fit three beds, a table with chairs, and a bathroom (respecting the legal minimum space requirements) in just 20 square meters.
We managed to use every inch wisely. The extra third bed is composed of two parts – a drawer and a mattress –, hidden beneath the two main beds. For the luggage compartment and storage space we used part of the bathroom, which is still comfortable and fits a shower cabin. The frosted glass insertions in the bathroom wall allow natural light to flow through. The metallic frames and veneer panels bring sturdiness and durability.
The common space is more playful, with cozy colors and textures. Despite the tight space, we managed to create the welcoming atmosphere of a living room.
